Smear the Queer and Other American Activities presents three Americans who have spent varying amounts of time in B.C.'s capital city, Victoria. Come and meet Brian the cookie factory worker, Rob the reluctant Mormon missionary, and Michael the free spirited university student. Smear the Queer explores the lives of these three characters while touching on subjects such as: prejudice, cars, hope, Star Wars, and good old fashion rock n' roll.
Ella has spent most of her life trapped in a world of nightmares. She has always searched for the perfect best friend, so when she meets Tom, things start looking up. What she doesn't know is that her journey with Tom will take an unexpected turn that she would never have imagined. A portrayal of three relationships gone bad, told by two narrators, and six actors performing short scenes with dance/movement interludes. It is a story about love and betrayal. A mentally unstable soldier returns from World War I to find an even more mentally unstable world. A subversive satire on man, madness, and the consequences of social apathy. A man and a woman confront their issues with communication with the help of their alter-egos. Excedera is brought unto the world to fulfill her duty as "the second coming". She is here to reveal to the world what life really is - that the monotonous events of everyday is not life. Two clowns in love! (Coarse language and suggestive scenes). In an effort to destroy his counterpart, a man is forced to come to grips with his own life and reasons for living. Words Words Words is a comedy by David Ives which tells the tale of three monkeys who were caged and given typewriters by scientists who want to prove that Hamlet can be written by mere chance.
15 minute Hamlet by Tom Stoppard. is exactly what the title says. Five characters attempt to present William Shakespeare's Hamlet, in 15 minutes.
Both shows are comedic, and could be viewed by an audience member of any age. |
